During maintenance, we temporarily disabled server-side implementation of EAC, whilst we investigate reported issues of people being unable to connect/play.
This should mean that anyone who had difficulty playing post-0.1.5 should now be able to log in.
Sorry about this and we’ll continue to work on getting this fixed so it can be re-enabled in a future update.
It’s worth mentioning that anti-cheat systems are still in place, so…behave yourselves.
If you're receiving the error "Authentication timeout 1/2" we believe that this error was introduced in 0.1.5 and is related to our server-side implementation of EAC.
We're working with EAC to figure out if there's anything we can do to stop this happening but there's a couple of things you could try in the meantime too.
We believe that if you're on a slower internet connection or in an area of the world with high load the call times to the EAC servers may be stalling and this leads to the time.
Internally, we've experienced this error too but it has been intermittent and repeated attempts have allowed users to log in successfully.
There are a few things you could try but they are not guaranteed fixes - more troubleshooting steps for us to rule out.
The first thing to try is simply reinstalling the game, I know this is tedious, but it will likely fix any problems due to corrupted/out of date EAC files.
Also, it may be worth attempting to launch the game with your anti-virus disabled and your firewall/network security lowered.
Please bear in mind that if you're connecting from a secured network such as a university or work environment access to the game ports may be restricted.
If the problem is persisting after a reinstall please provide us with your logs after you try reconnecting.
- Right-click the game in your Steam Library

- Go to the UnityClient@Windows_Data folder
- Inside you'll find a .txt file called 'output_log' - attach this to your ticket.
Navigate to this directory on your PC and send us the .log file found in the below directory.
If you're having trouble finding it %AppData% is usually c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming
